Our History
The Islamic Association of Quintana Roo is an initiative that was born in 2022 with the objective of responding to the needs of Muslim residents and visitors who did not have mosques or spaces set up for worship and Islamic activities.
Cancun and the Riviera Maya being an area with a notable increase in Muslim immigration, a group of young Mexican brothers, experts in administration, Islamic affairs and project execution, met to establish the basis for creating an innovative Islamic community for the benefit of all Muslims in the area, which eventually resulted in what is today the Islamic Association of Quintana Roo, which offers various services to Muslims and seeks to continue expanding.
Although Mexico is a country with a small number of Muslims, this is changing because every year there is an increase of nationals who convert to Islam and therefore it is imperative to offer a reliable site that guarantees access to accurate Islamic information to facilitate the learning process for all, but especially for new members of the umma.
